U16 Program (ages 14-15)
This age group increases the competition as an introduction to scored racing and the National Points listing. Development continues to be refined as directed by US Ski’s Alpine Training System with more time on snow and an increased number of races. Races include open races throughout New Hampshire and NHARA’s U16 state-wide qualifier race series to advance athletes to US Ski Eastern Region’s sponsored races and US Ski's National sponsored scored races. Most training is focused on SL and GS racing with SG training/racing.
Equipment Needs: a helmet that meets the FIS helmet standards; 1 pair of slalom (SL) skis and 1 pair of giant slalom (GS) skis; access to SG skis; appropriate equipment for event specific training/racing. High School Program (ages 14-18)
This program is designed for U16 and U19 athletes looking for a weekend and holiday training program to supplement their high school alpine objectives. The athletes would be eligible to train weekends and participate in select US Ski and Snowboard open races throughout New Hampshire. Training is focused on SL and GS racing. These athletes would not participate in the NHARA qualifier race series or the subsequent US Ski and Snowboard Eastern and National races.
Equipment Needs: a race helmet (min U14 standards); 1 pair of slalom (SL) skis and 1 pair of giant slalom (GS) skis; appropriate equipment for event specific training/racing.
Required memberships:
USSA: Competitor U16 or U19
NHARA: U16 or U19 membership
